Four China air gateways flying direct to Chicago ORD, ocean sailings from Yantian to LA / Long Beach / New York / Savannah, and our own US customs broker on the import side. One all-in price from your factory floor to any of the 48 contiguous states.
Get a USA Line QuoteWe consolidate at the gateway that fits your factory, not the one that fits our schedule. Air cargo leaves from four mainland gateways with direct Chicago ORD service, plus a wider network through Shenzhen, Shanghai and Hong Kong into LAX, SFO and JFK. Ocean cargo sails out of Yantian.

Not sure which one fits your shipment? Send us the carton dimensions and weight — we will tell you the break-even point between air and ocean for your specific cargo.
The carrier you pick decides the port, the cut-off and how much of the transit you can actually control. Our main US carriers are Matson, HeDe, ZIM and COSCO / EMC — together with Yantian LCL consolidation, they cover the range from fastest to cheapest.
| Option | Discharge Port | Transit | When to Choose |
|---|---|---|---|
| Matson CLX | Long Beach | 12–15 days | Peak season, or freight that cannot wait for a standard weekly cut-off |
| HeDe | Los Angeles | West 18–25 days | Standard West Coast sailings at competitive rates |
| ZIM | Los Angeles / New York | West 18–25 / East 28–35 days | Balanced rate and schedule on both coasts |
| COSCO / EMC | Long Beach / New York / Savannah | West 18–25 / East 28–35 days | Large volume, multiple US ports in one booking |
| Yantian Consolidation | Los Angeles | 20–35 days | LCL cargo you are happy to consolidate with other shippers |
For oversized and out-of-gauge ocean cargo we book dedicated Matson, HeDe, ZIM or COSCO / EMC oversized trucks — see Oversized Cargo to the USA.

The practical difference is who owns the import side. DDP suits factories and traders without a US importer of record, or without a customs BOND of their own. DDU suits shippers who already hold an importer number and want to keep freight and duty on separate invoices.
Your US import charge is not a single number. Three separate CBP charges stack on top of the freight, and they are assessed on the customs value of the goods — not on what you paid for shipping.
| Charge | What It Is | How It Is Assessed |
|---|---|---|
| Import duty | The tariff rate on your product | By HS/HTS code and country of origin. Section 301 and other additional duties may apply on Chinese-origin goods. |
| MPF — Merchandise Processing Fee | CBP's processing charge on formal entries | Ad valorem on customs value, subject to a minimum and maximum per entry published by CBP. |
| HMF — Harbor Maintenance Fee | Funds US port maintenance | Ad valorem on the value of cargo arriving at a US seaport. Air shipments are not subject to HMF. |
Under DDP we clear on our own continuous BOND, prepay duty, MPF, and HMF, and hand you the payment evidence. Because tariff treatment for Chinese-origin goods has been changing repeatedly, we re-cost the duty line on every sailing rather than quoting from an old rate card.
| Item | When | Who Handles It |
|---|---|---|
| Commercial invoice, packing list, HS code confirmation | Before booking | You send, we pre-screen the HS code |
| ISF 10+2 filing | 24 hours before vessel loading | Our US broker |
| Continuous or single-entry customs BOND | Before arrival | Our own continuous BOND under DDP |
| Wood packaging fumigation / ISPM 15 marking | Before loading | Origin packing supplier, we check the mark |
| Lithium battery documents — UN38.3 test report and MSDS | Before air booking | You supply, we verify against carrier rules |
| Agency or partner-government certificates | Before departure | We advise which apply to your HS code |
| Day | Air Freight | Ocean FCL / LCL |
|---|---|---|
| D-7 to D-5 | Confirm cargo details, book space | Confirm booking, submit shipping instructions |
| D-3 | Cargo to gateway warehouse, screening and reinforcement | Cargo to Yantian, container loading, VGM submission |
| D-1 | Export declaration, flight cut-off | Export declaration, port cut-off |
| D0 | Departs China | Vessel departs Yantian |
| D1–D2 | Arrives ORD, broker files entry, duty prepaid | ISF filed 24h before loading; in transit |
| D3–D7 | Import release, last-mile truck to door | Arrival, clearance, duty prepaid, last-mile truck to door |
Actual dates shift with airline space, vessel cut-offs and CBP release. We give you the confirmed cut-off for your sailing week in writing.
Machinery, plant equipment and over-width pieces do not fit the normal air and ocean products. On the US lane we run three dedicated channels: sea flat-rack and open-top, air BUP, and UPS heavy air. Each has its own size ceiling, document set and price logic — picking the wrong one usually means re-packing the cargo.
| Channel | Typical Transit | Best For | Detail |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sea Oversized — Flat Rack / Open Top | 25–45 days | Heavy, wide or over-length pieces where cost matters more than speed | See specs |
| Air Oversized — BUP | 7–12 days | Urgent out-of-gauge pieces, high-value equipment | See specs |
| UPS Heavy Air | 8–12 days | Single pieces that clear UPS size rules but exceed parcel limits | See specs |
Standardised landing pages split by mode and channel — transit, billing, accepted cargo and FAQ — for quick quotes and comparison.
| Landing Page | Mode | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| US Sea Freight DDP | Ocean FCL / LCL | Yantian to US West/East, 25-35 days door to door |
| US Air Freight DDP | Air lane | Four gateways to ORD, 7-10 days, duty prepaid |
| FBA Sea Freight | Sea-truck / Sea-express | Amazon inbound, DDP, all US FBA warehouses |
| FBA Air Freight | Air-express | 5-10 days to warehouse, restock & urgent |
DDU is cheaper on paper because you pay duty yourself, but only if you already hold a US customs BOND and can clear your own entry. Without an importer of record, DDP's all-in price is almost always the lower total cost once you add brokerage, BOND and duty prepayment.
From Yantian: US West Coast 18–25 days, US East Coast 28–35 days, via Vancouver with inland rail 20–28 days. Matson CLX express to Long Beach runs 12–15 days. These are port-to-port times; add clearance and inland delivery.
Yes. Air shipments need a UN38.3 test report and an MSDS; ocean shipments need dangerous-goods packing certification. We screen the battery type against the airline's and carrier's acceptance rules before booking, so you do not find out at the warehouse.
Duty is set by the HS/HTS code and country of origin, assessed on the customs value of the goods. Under DDP we clear on our own continuous BOND, prepay duty, MPF and HMF, and pass you the payment evidence.
All 48 contiguous states, including residential, commercial and Amazon FBA or third-party 3PL warehouses. Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and offshore territories are quoted separately.
Yes. We deliver to Amazon FBA, 3PL warehouses and commercial addresses. For FBA we confirm the appointment rules and label requirements for your destination fulfilment centre before dispatch.
China export declaration, origin haulage and warehouse handling, international freight, US import clearance and ISF filing, duty plus MPF and HMF, and last-mile trucking to the door. Surcharges such as customs declaration, magnetic-cargo screening or a designated last-mile carrier are itemised on the quote, not buried in the rate.
Yes, through three channels: sea flat-rack or open-top, air BUP, and UPS heavy air. Send us a photo, a drawing and the L×W×H plus weight per piece, and we will tell you which channel physically accepts it before we talk price.
We monitor the sailing or flight and tell you the moment a cut-off moves. For peak-season cargo we recommend booking Matson CLX or air rather than relying on standard West Coast space — see our US East Coast peak season note for why.
Send the destination ZIP or city, cargo type, per-carton dimensions and weight, and we return a formal PDF quote with a cost breakdown and estimated transit within two hours during business hours.
